Let’s make some meaning…

MAKING MEANING: THE BACKGROUND

Between the Witches is an instrumental Psych Math band from Northeast Ohio. Progressive, Experimental, and Noise elements blend to create their intricate and dynamic sound. They formed three years ago, and aside from a brief pause during a drummer change in early 2019, they’ve had a solid presence in the Youngstown, Ohio music scene. Always striving to grow, the members of Between the Witches play as a way to challenge themselves and each other musically.

Between the Witches’ debut album Dark Circles is available for streaming and purchase January 15, 2020. Get more information about the album and keep up to date on all of their upcoming shows and news by following them on Bandcamp, Facebook, and Instagram.

And, hey, if you like Experimental, Electronic, and Ambient music you might also like guitarist Tony Cucitrone’s other project, B4cksp4c3.

BETWEEN THE WITCHES SPEAKS

“At times calm and others anxiety ridden. Much like the band members and mankind in general.” Between the Witches on “Sine Nomine”

“Sine Nomine” is the most concise representation of Between the Witches group concept. It has a sense of order and structure, riddled with chaos. It is paradoxical in nature. At times calm and others anxiety ridden. Much like the band members and mankind in general. We are not interested in playing a specific style as much as we are interested in experimenting to make something unique. We believe that the combination of our separate tastes and influences have the potential to make a worthy contribution to the art form of music. This song is our clearest manifestation of this concept and we believe anyone who enjoys this will certainly enjoy what we have planned for the future. – Bob, Tony, Zach, and Eric of Between the Witches

Thanks so much to the members of Between the Witches for giving us a sense of the conceptual push and pull behind this song. Thank you for making meaning with us.
