Last month Trevor and I spoke about our blog, Trevor’s photography and videography, and our band at a cool skill-sharing event in Pittsburgh, PA. It was hosted by our friends in Action Camp as part of the release of their single “Dissonance.”
Listen to it: It’s good.
This was our first public appearance speaking about what we do! We were honored to share our skills alongside SIKES, Weird Paul Petroskey, Ky Vöss, and Jamie Fadden of We Are The Weirdos. We met a lot of really interesting and talented attendees, as well!

Here’s what skills were shared:
- SIKES AKA Brian Howe: Podcasting & Promotion
- Weird Paul Petroskey: Social Media
- Ky Vöss: Midi & Electronic Instrumentation
- Jamie Fadden of We Are The Weirdos: Lighting & Tech
- Us: Be Ready for Media Coverage!

We don’t consider ourselves experts in media coverage, though we have a lot of experience on both sides – as musicians seeking media coverage and as a writer and photographer seeking interesting subjects. When we looked into it, we were surprised to find that we’ve interviewed over 50 musicians and photographed over 100 acts in the last two years! We’ve also had a fair amount of reviews and interviews published about our band.
In our next article, we’ll share what we know about how you can be ready for media coverage (whether you’re seeking it or it just happens organically) and share an assessment tool we made for you to use on your website and social media pages.
The assessment tool will be available for free download. If you haven’t already subscribed by email, please do! You get posts directly in your email (we rarely post more than once a week) and you get it before it’s posted on social media. PLUS, it let’s us know you care about the content we’re creating and sharing! Be well!
